How to Prepare Hot Chai
DIRECTIONS
- crush 1 tbsp of your chai with a mortar & pestle
- add crushed spices to pot for boiling
- pour in 2 cups of milk and 1 cup of water
- bring to a boil, then lower heat
- add honey/sugar, and stir
- simmer for 10 min
- strain into a teacup. Enjoy!
TIPS
- to bring out more flavor, simmer dry spices on low heat before adding water/milk
- if you do not have a mortar & pestle, skip the crushing and simply add spices to pot
- the longer you simmer your chai, the stronger it will taste. Adjust quantities and brew time according to your taste preference.
- Re-brew leftover spices up to 3 times!
Simply store in the fridge until you are ready for more!
For an extra kick, stir in 1-2 tsp of our Instant Indian Coffee.

How to Prepare Iced Chai
FROM CHILLED CHAI
- follow directions for “Hot Chai” then cool, and refrigerate for 1-2 hours
- strain cold chai into glass with ice and enjoy!
FROM CHAI CONCENTRATE
- add 3-4 tbsp of chai concentrate to a glass with ice
- top with milk/cream and enjoy!
(Concentrate can also be made hot: just add hot water and cream.)
QUICK STEEP
- add 1 tbsp of your favorite Chai Garden blend and 1 tbsp of honey/sugar to a glass jar/cup
- pour 1/2 cup boiling water over chai
- stir, and steep for 7+ min
- strain into 1/2 a glass of ice
- top with milk/cream and enjoy!
